Projectspine® is a Danish technology company. We are owned by the Swedish technology company Lagercrantz and are established in Denmark in 2015.

Why Spine?

The Nordic Council report emphasizes the need for construction for ICT solutions, which ensures a holistic view of construction projects for all actors. The Danish Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing have published a new strategy for digital building (Danish) » which also underlines the need for digitalization in the building industry.

In conceptual terms the infrastructure underpinning Spine can in many ways be regarded as a reinvention of the mobile network. Spine converts international standards into pure technology and manages these standards to allow architects, engineers, contractors and developers to form an overview of all building elements and components – without working in the graphic design model itself. This ensures that project participants are always on the same page so that the number of errors, misunderstandings and decisions made on an inadequate basis are significantly reduced. This likewise ensures a uniform understanding of concepts, consistent quality assurance, optimum collaboration and – not least – the simple and efficient application of standards.

In other words, standards are no longer just reference an encyclopedia, but form the basis of a communication platform that allows significant elucidation of characteristics, application and not least cohesion on a construction project. In this way, Spine contributes a very important homogeneity in the work on CCS classification through which the entire project is consolidated. This also means that all project participants are provided with a unique financial overview of the project. Financial risks are minimised, efficiency is increased and the ability to meet deadlines within the agreed project time frame is enhanced. The benefits of this are enormous. 

Spine also provides the developer with a much more detailed overview of the construction process than is currently the case. This means that the developer is at all times able to track the financial consequences of the decisions being made during the project – and simultaneously follow the development of the project visually  

Spine makes reusing data and information far easier and supports several different standards so that project participants are able jointly to implement the required standards across disciplines. Throughout the construction process, Spine also makes validating, identifying, coordinating and exchanging project information possible – from design tool to operation and maintenance. 

The browser that is built into the Desktop Service automatically logs the user into the Spine portal and provides a simple and easily accessible overview of all applicable information about the object the user is working on – directly from Revit or other third-party softwareUsers thereby achieve a full overview of objects, project types, characteristics and interrelationships – without having to search through several different software programmes.
